Principal Function

The Production Director will serve to ensure a high-quality live audio, video, and live streaming experience for all worship services and other programs within the church.  The Production Director works closely with the Pastor, Minister of Worship and Arts and the First Family Team to convert vision, ideas and goals into compelling and engaging production.

 

This position will serve as the production expert while coordinating, managing and training both teams and volunteers to become competent in various production roles (with emphasis on audio, visual and live streaming).  He/She will align with the vision, mission and philosophy for First Baptist Church of Hampton. 

 

Reporting Requirements

The Production Director will report directly to the Minister of Worship and Arts.

General Qualifications:

  • A personal experience of conversion and commitment to Jesus Christ.
  • Desire to lead the Church’s Media Ministries with excellence.
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or certification in a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of live audio, video, web audio and live streaming production experience.
  • Possess organizational and planning skills to meet required schedules and deadlines
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Must possess and maintain interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment, while maintaining quality customer service.
  • Skills and ability to work on a variety of live audio, video, web audio, live streaming and lighting systems.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work both independently and with a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing projects and creative personnel.
  • Ability to recognize problems and apply the appropriate corrective actions. 
  • Possess strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the production of audio, video, web audio and live streaming for worship services, rehearsals and other events.
  • Manage the audio, video, web audio and live streaming aspects of worship services and other programs by overseeing and managing the audio, video, and live streaming infrastructure of the Church.
  • Proficient knowledge and skills in operating a Behringer/Midas M/x32 and the Behringer Wing.
  • Proficient knowledge and skills in operating ProductionVIEW HD MV cameras and switcher.
  • Proficient knowledge and skills in operating Easy Worship.
  • Ensure live events are executed according to plan with emphasis on maintaining a high level of sound, video and compression quality. 
  • Plan, prepare, produce and execute visual presentations for worship including liturgy and lyrics for the worship services and other events for First Baptist Church of Hampton.  
  • Recruit, train and schedule personnel for worship services and other events; ensuring all production positions are filled with competent leaders that can execute their position with excellence.  
  • Manage the use, maintenance and inventory of all audio, video, live streaming, software, hardware and lighting equipment under the Production Director’s control.  Recommend the purchase of replacement and/or additional equipment as needed.
  • Forecast, evaluate and recommend long term solutions for updates, replacements, installs and other related improvements for production.  
  • Contribute to Production Team goals, responsibilities including meetings, staging, gear maintenance, storage and organization. 
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all ministry leaders, both lay and the First Team. 
  • Establish goals and objectives by prioritizing related programs – managing the use of facilities, delegating tasks and evaluating progress regularly.
  • Work with appropriate committees, officers and leaders to fulfill the ministry of the church.
  • Establish and adhere to an annual budget.
  • Annually review and evaluate policies and procedures for operating audio, video, web audio and live streaming. 
  • Participate in team meetings, retreats and other team events that support FBCH Strategic Plan.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct live audio, video, web audio and live streaming related issues.
  • Attend required church services and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
