Describe the worship experience at FBCH
Worship through music is a high priority at First Baptist Church of Hampton (FBCH). We believe that praise and worship usher in the power of the Holy Spirit. Our music ministry offers various forms of worship and praise songs of all genres.
We also believe in worshiping God through the arts (including liturgical dance, visual arts, and drama).
We want everyone who comes through the doors to experience the life-changing power of worship through music and the anointed preached word.
Does your church celebrate Communion?
Communion is celebrated on the 4th Sunday morning of each month. All believers in Christ are welcome to participate.
1 Corinthians 11:23-29
What should I wear?
There is no dress code at our church. When you worship with us you should be comfortable. Your comfort may be traditional church attire, business, business casual or jeans. Come as you are!
Will I be asked to give an offering?
“God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 6;8). As a guest, you are welcome but not expected to give an offering. The tithes and offering portion of our service is a time of celebration at FBCH. Our members are excited to give as a part of their commitment to God and the church, according to Luke 6:38.
Am I required to wear a mask?
President Biden and the Centers for Disease Control have declared that COVID is no longer in the pandemic phase, so we will be adjusting our mask policy accordingly. Effective April 10, 2023, (the Monday after Resurrection Sunday), masks will be optional when in our facilities. We certainly, reserve the option of reinstating the requirement for masks, if the conditions and recommendations from medical professionals suggest that we make masks required again.
Is there a place for my children to experience worship?
Children are invited to attend our children and youth Sunday School classes and ministry opportunities. Our youth are taught by dedicated and experienced instructors and parental volunteers.
As a visitor, will I have to say anything or be singled out?
You will not be asked to say anything or introduce yourself as a visitor. As our way of welcoming you, we do ask all of our guests to stand during the welcome so that we may greet you. We do not want you to do anything that would make you feel uncomfortable.
Luke 19:34
